Basque, English, and Spanish in a natural and coherent environment
At Aiurri Montessori, languages are not isolated subjects.
They are part of everyday life.
Students grow in an environment where Basque, English, and Spanish coexist naturally and are used every day to communicate, learn, and build relationships.

A Strong Foundation: Basque
Basque is the central language and heart of our community.
We live it naturally both inside and outside the classroom, creating a real connection with the language, culture, and environment.
When a language is truly lived, learning happens naturally.
English as a Window to the World
English is introduced progressively and naturally as a communication tool.
It is not limited to a single subject: it appears throughout daily projects, activities, and experiences, allowing students to use it in real contexts from an early age.
This way, the language becomes something useful and alive, not just theoretical.
Learning Languages Is Not About Memorising
It is about living them, using them, and making them your own.
Children Learn to Use Languages, Not Just Study Them
We work on the four language skills — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — through a practical and meaningful approach.
For English literacy, we also use the Jolly Phonics and Read Write Inc. methodologies to support reading and writing development in a structured and respectful way.
Present Throughout the Whole Day
Languages are part of children’s everyday experiences:
- In the classroom
- During projects
- Un art and science
- In playtime, outdoors, and during meals
This creates constant exposure that encourages natural language acquisition without pressure.
The Result?
- Children who:
- Communicate confidently in several languages
- See languages as useful and close to them
- Develop an open-minded view of the world
